Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tacoma South - Lakewood by IHG

From the moment we walked in the decor was beautiful and inviting. We were greeted with kindness and professionalism. Room rates were excellent for walk-in and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast area very very clean and the food was delicious. Thank you to Cecilia for the wonderful food. The whole staff is very hard-working and it shows through the comfort And Cleanliness that they provide. We will definitely make this a place to stay while in Western Washington. Thank you to the whole staff .

Having spent months and months of cumulative days in dozens of hotels over the last few years due to work, I’ve very quickly become accustomed to learning which hotels genuinely care about the customer experience, and which are simply good at faking it. I’ve probably stayed at this hotel for at least 30 days total over time, so I feel confident in telling you that this is very much the former. Every single experience has been delightful, and if they’re ever have been issues, the staff has always been lightning quick to remedy them - nothing major, of course. Hotel staff have such a tendency to be so hit or miss, even at nicer hotels, but every one of them has been absolutely stellar here. While they all deserve praise, I feel it important to mention that Kayla is the one who truly inspired me to write a review, for excelling in her customer service. Nothing is better than being assisted by someone who is as genuinely kind as they are helpful, and that’s review worthy to me. They are extremely lucky to have her and the rest of the staff. Thank you guys for such a great stay, and I look forward to many more!

After a long trip we decided to stay at this hotel and the next morning we tried to drink coffee but the coffee maker didn't work. We spoke to the front desk and Lizzy came quickly and replaced the coffee maker with another one. She is very friendly and let me know that they had coffee 24 hours a day in the lobby. Thank you for your quick action. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

The best part of our stay and experience was the complimentary breakfast service. Cecilia and the rest of the morning staff are absolutely amazing! They were attentive, friendly, and professional. They truly made our stay here one to remember.

Other than a weird sounding ac/heater, the room and experience was absolutely wonderful. I just turned off the heater and cracked open the window a tiny bit to some legit decent white noise from the freeway. Bed is great with the pillows being wonderful too. Blankets are plenty warm. Bathroom is very clean, also. Breakfast is quite decent! I had turkey sausage here for Thanksgiving, but I'm sure it returns to standard beef/pork on the regular. Great coffee machine! Television also works well, if anyone is wondering. Wi-Fi is good, although randomly disconnects sometimes but it's truly not a noticeable issue. Who am I to make a review? I used to be a night auditor for 2.5 years. Hotels are one of my specialities. Definitely would recommend this place to friends. It's clean, simple, and priced at a rate that's still pre-pandemic tier. Disclaimer: I did not use the pool or gym, so I will not review those two areas.

I originally booked this hotel for a weekend stay with my kids because it has an indoor pool and breakfast — I wanted them to have a fun place to play before heading back to school on Monday. When we arrived Sunday, we went to the pool area and it was freezing cold. I asked if the heat could be turned up, and I was told maintenance would be sent, but no one came right away. Later, I went back to the front desk and met Kayla, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She explained that the heater was temporarily not working, but she immediately offered to have someone come close the windows to help warm up the area. That made a noticeable difference, and I really appreciated her taking action. What stood out most was Kayla’s genuine customer service. Later that day, she saw me with my children and, completely unprompted, offered them a free snack and juice because they didn’t get to enjoy the pool as much due to the cold. I didn’t ask for anything — she did it purely out of kindness. I was honestly considering requesting a refund before that, but her thoughtful gesture and care completely changed our experience. Kayla went above and beyond, and her compassion made us feel valued as guests. Thank you, Kayla, for turning a frustrating situation into a positive one. Your customer service is outstanding.

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Abdul, who was incredibly friendly and helpful — his warm attitude really made our experience even better. The pool area was also very nice and well-maintained, and our family really enjoyed spending time there. Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing stay, and we would happily come back again.

This is, by far, the best Holiday Inn Express that we’ve stayed at. We are frequent guests of the hotel and as others have mentioned, the seasonal/holiday decor always looks great and is the first thing you notice upon entering. The staff, is ALWAYS quick to greet you with smiles and warm welcomes. Front desk personnel from Kayla, Lucy, Kennia and Lizzie are absolutely the best! They all go above and beyond, to accommodate any needs we have ever had. The housekeeping staff are so kind and always do a better than great job and always pass by with a smile. The whole facility from parking, to waiting area, breakfast area and rooms are always clean! We love visiting this Holiday Inn Express!!
